Our contribution to a poetic day: a great installation called Bâtiment (Building) by Leandro Erlich currently on display at Le 104, Paris. This work of art is simple yet very clever: a massive building facade is constructed on the floor near a towering mirror giving anyone reflected the uncanny appearance of being weightless. So everyone trying out the ‘mirrored facade’ has the possibility to feel a little bit like Spiderman. Just great!
Unser Beitrag zum poetischen Tag: eine großartige Installation, die jeden zum Spiderman macht! Bâtiment (Gebäude) ist eine Installation des Künstlers Leandro Erlich, die zur Zeit im “Le 104″ in Paris ausgestellt wird. Die Installation ist einfach, aber ausgeklügelt: eine massive Gebäude-Fassade ist neben einem riesigen Spiegel auf den Boden montiert. Alles, was sich auf der Fassade am Boden befindet, wird im Spiegel reflektiert und vermittelt dem Beobachter den Eindruck auf der Fassade zu stehen bzw. hängen. Spiderman-Feeling für jedermann – einfach großartig!
By the way: optical illusions are a speciality of Leandro Erlich! Have a look at “The Swimming Pool”, a pool simulation he installed for The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan.
