Deserted cities? In fact, unthinkable. But the French photographers Lucie and Simon created with their photographs “Silent World” a world without people, traffic chaos or jostling crowds. Large cities as Paris, New York, Beijing and Rome are on these works simply abandoned places.
Using long exposures people were “erased” from the images and put together on the computer with other photographs with a shutter speed of less than one second. Matching the photos that were awarded with the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation prize, there is now a short film to the images.
