Coffee Chat.

A posting from Poetry Café

Since end of last year there is a new nation- and coffeehouse-connecting initiative around: the ‘Coffee Chat”. The initiative was started by the embassy of Israel and focuses on the relation between traditional coffeehouse and modern forms of communication, as coffeehouses have always been places of open dialogue, meeting points of different cultures and places were people could talk. The first ‘Coffee Chat’ took place in November at Café Prückel (Vienna) and Tola’at Sfarim (Tel Aviv).

How it works:
There is one ‘Coffee Chat Webterminal’ which moves to another coffeehouse every month. So if you spot the terminal one glance is enough and you know if there is someone around in Tel Aviv to chat and get to know.

The next ‘Coffee Chats’ are taking place in these locations in Vienna:
March, 1st to March 31st 2012: Café Weimar (9., Währinger Straße 68)
April, 1st to April 30th: Café Residenz (13., Schlossstraße 52, Schönbrunn)
May, 1st to May, 31st: Café Meierei im Volksgarten (1., Volksgarten)
June, 1st to June, 31st: Café Diglas (1., Wollzeile 10)
July, 1st to July, 31st : Tel Aviv Beach/Donaukanal (2., U2 Schottenring, Ausgang Herminengasse)

Vergangene Termine: Café Prückel (1., Stubenring 24), Café Markusplatz (1., Tuchlauben 16), Café Korb (1., Brandstätte 7-9), Café Hobby, (9., Währinger Straße 9), Café Restaurant Sargfabrik (14., Goldschlagstraße 169)

Unfortunately we could find the locations/dates for Tel Aviv but if you happen to know something about it – let us know :-)
