Austin Kleon tried to become a writer and was attending some seminars to learn how to write. He was bored and as many others would do in his situation he startet to paint in an old New York Times Newspaper. At the end there was a sentence left. Since than he is creating Blackout Poems.
Kleon just eliminated every word he has not needed for his short texts, poems, even horoscopes with his permanent marker until he created poetry. His bestselling book “Newspaper Blackout” is poetry made by redacting newspaper magazines.
