A posting from Poetry Café

Street artist Banksy did this piece of street art together with students from the City of Los Angeles School for the exhibition “Art in The Streets” which is hosted by MOCA. It is the first big exhibition of an US museum on grafitti and street art. The exhibition traces street art from the 1970s to today, showing art from key cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Sao Paulo. The exhibition features paintings, mixed media sculptures, and interactive installations by 50 of the most dynamic artists and will emphasize Los Angeles’s role in the evolution of graffiti and street art, with special sections dedicated to seminal local movements such as cholo graffiti and Dogtown skateboard culture. Thanks to the artist himself the ”Art in the Streets” show will be free on Mondays. You can see the exhibition until August, 8th.
