The sculptor Ruth Jensen creates people out of wire. But not only people. She has specialized on birds and jewelry that she sells on Etsy.com, the online shop for everything crafty. In order to perfect her wire art skills, she worked for six weeks at the figure of The Coffee Man.
Meanwhile she has also created other people, like the girlfriend of the Coffee Man and a “Little Coffee Man” but also other companions to them. You can see them on her website.
When asked why she loves to work with wire she replies: “I think that wire is a magical medium: it is almost liquid in its flexibility, is incredibly light, yet amazingly rugged and durable, environmentally friendly and capable of infinite to conjure effects. I want my work ultimately the viewer enjoys but also involved. My wire installations do so all at the time by remaining visible inside and out..
